God Behind the Firewall : A Novel
By Anirban Ray
Sparrow Publications
Price 250, U.S.Dollar : $11
A software professional disillusioned with his job, seeking spiritual fulfilment. Eventually, he realizes that mystical messages are encrypted in the software codes he has used. With the help of his wife, Sampurna, and after a hectic travelling schedule, covering California,
Calcutta, Bangalore, Las Vegas and the Lake District, Arun finally reaches the abstract “Quantum Mind, Cyberspace”. Then, at last, he realizes that science is nothing but a spiritual quest. Now, all he has to do to redeem the holy power of software and science is to fight a moral battle against hackers, the ungodly race. The novel ends with Arun’s discovery of “the Avatar” — a “collective spiritual being”, “a simulated aggregation of our quantum consciousness”, “a step closer to God” than ordinary human beings (does it make any sense at all?). Strewn with quotes of Nietzsche, Einstein, Edgar Cayce and Oprah Winfrey, the novel, pretending to be a piece of science.

Bled white for oil
The author documents the decimation of Iraq as a West Asian superpower in order to protect American interests
Iraq War : The History Behind the Conflict - The Untold Story
By Albert Jurgen
Sparrow Publications
Price 200, U.S.Dollar : $10
The book is extensively documented to show how the US in 1991 virtually trapped Iraq into a war with Kuwait, once a part of Iraq, so that the Western power could intervene in a local conflict and safeguard its three overriding interests – keep the oilfields under its control, ensure safety of Israel and never allow Pan Arabic solidarity to grow. For those who do not know from earlier accounts, Jurgen’s documentation will help estimate the scale of tragedy in Iraq in the Gulf War. “The tonnage of ordinance expended over Iraq in the span of 12 days exceeded the total capacity of bombs dropped in Germany throughout World War II”.
In the American operation to free Kuwait, about 1.5 lakh Iraqis died.
